Saint Bede is a stewardship parish. What does that mean? We look at the annual and long term needs of the parish. We ask parishioners to make a commitment so that the parish can plan for and complete our mission in the coming year. We ask for your commitment to prayer, formation, service and financial support. Bring the gifts that God has given to you and let God steer you where he will.
We have more than 50 ministries at Saint Bede, there is one that can use your talents and gifts. Likewise, they can help you and your family on your faith journey or to overcome a challenge you might be having.
We have numerous faith formation opportunities for all ages, as stewards we are called to form our own faith and share our faith with others. As stewards, we use God's gifts to us to help our parish and community. We don't take up regular collections. We do "pass the basket" for special collections throughout the year but not for our regular offertory giving. About 40% of gifts come from parishioners who give online, about 35% give through the use of envelopes, another 20% through their IRA's or Donor advised funds and about 5% of our funds come through the many visitors we welcome.

In the US Bishops Pastoral Letter on Stewardship, they describe it in this way:
What identifies a steward? Safeguarding material and human resources and using them responsibly are one answer; so is generous giving of time, talent, and treasure. But being a Christian steward means more. As Christian stewards, we receive God's gifts gratefully, cultivate them responsibly, share them lovingly in justice with others, and return them with increase to the Lord.
Stewardship is part of our calling as Catholic Christians, it gives meaning to our lives. Our stewardship is brought to life through the celebration of the Eucharist, prayer, and service to others. Saint Bede is blessed with parishioners who with their time, talent, and treasure generously support the ministries that touch thousands of lives. Changing and growing into the likeness of Christ is not just greater knowledge of our faith, but doing what God’s Word says. We invite every parishioner to get involved in a ministry, to experience the love and joy of Christ through service to others.

We don't like to think of it but it does happen. We become ill or incapacitated and our family is left to make decisions about our health care. Do you have your wishes spelled out? Do you know what the church suggests? How about in case of your death, have you planned for your funeral and your earthly repose? All of these are important issues to think about, in advance. It is one of the greatest gifts you can give your family, and we have the resources for you. Download our guide on Advance Medical Directives and our Funeral Planning Guide.
