Notre Dame Children’s Choir 10th Anniversary Tour: Under the direction of founder and artistic director, Dr. Mark Doerries, 35 singers ages 11-18 from the Notre Dame Children’s Choir will travel from Indiana for one week to perform concerts and liturgies in Virginia Beach, Williamsburg, Richmond, and Washington, D.C. Performing works by Mozart, Stephen Paulus, Vaughan Williams, Mark Miller, J.J. Wright, and our recently commissioned Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis settings by English composer Daniel Justin.
The University of Notre Dame Children’s Choir is an ecumenical choral program for children from toddlers through high school. The Choir educates over 200 choristers weekly; commissions and records new liturgical, classical, jazz, and spiritual music; and tours nationally. The touring Choir (ages 11-18) of the NDCC, modeled in the English Cathedral Choir tradition, has performed for the National Association of Pastoral Musicians, TEDx, and the Indiana Music Education Association. The Choir’s debut album, O Emmanuel, opened at the number one position on Billboard’s Chart of Traditional Classical Music in 2016.
