Once youth are Confirmed, they are called to continue to deepen their faith and understanding of Christ. In an effort to support these young men and women on their faith journeys, youth ministry offers opportunities during the week to accompany upperclass students as they take ownership of their Catholic faith.

Disicpleship team meets separately from youth group for training, team building, and retreats.

"When they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God with boldness."

Acts 4:31

What is AfterShock?

AfterShock is a program designed for upperclassmen to dive deeper into their faith, especially in light of receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation. The name "AfterShock" derives from the verse above because it was in the aftermath of the earthquake - an "aftershock" - that the apostles announced the Good News "with boldness." Inspired by this verse, the purpose of the AfterShock program is to equip upperclassmen with the knowledge, habits, and skills to boldly proclaim their Catholic faith in the world today.

Who can attend AfterShock?

Students in 11th and 12th grade may participate in AfterShock. Confirmed students are especially encouraged to attend.

When is AfterShock?

AfterShock meets Thursday nights during the school year from 6-7:30pm in the youth room located on the ministry level.

What happens at AfterShock?

AfterShock begins with dinner and follows with teaching, discussion, and prayer. The topics for the teaching and discussion are a combination of scripture, spiritual reading, and theological documents.
