Winter Homeless Shelter

The Williamsburg House of Mercy is joining with the Community of Faith Mission in providing dinner, a warm place to sleep, breakfast, and a bagged lunch for up to 25 homeless persons. 


We need your help to make this happen!


Volunteers Needed: November 12th-19th


  • Evening Shift- 5:30 p.m.- 9:00 p.m.

The Evening Shift sets up, welcomes guests, assists with dinner preparation, serves dinner and prepares bagged lunches for the next day. 

  • Overnight Shift- 9:00p.m.- 5:30 a.m.

The Overnight Shift calls lights out, and monitors the shelter while guest’s sleep.

 *Please note: you are not required to stay awake all night.*

  • Breakfast Shift- 5:30 a.m.-7:30 a.m.

The Breakfast Shift serves breakfast, distributes bag lunches, and resets the Parish Center when guests check out.

  • Chefs, bakers, and food providers

Assist with meal preparation, bake desserts or provide groceries for breakfasts or bagged lunches.

Thanksgiving Basket Donations

Each year, our parishioners generously provide hundreds of families with a Thanksgiving meal. This year we are acception donations of:

• Canned green beans
• Canned cranberry sauce
• Instant mashed potatoes
• Canned yams
• Canned corn
• Instant stuffing
• Gravy
• Canned fruit

Please mark bags "Thanksgiving"

*Donations for Turkey fund will gratefully be accepted. Please make checks payable to Williamsburg House of Mercy. Note “Turkey Fund” in memo line.

Christmas Angel Tree

The Christmas Angel Tree goes up the weekend before Thanksgiving, November 19th. Last year you helped provide more than 300 families with Christmas gifts! Each Angel ornament has a specific wish item from a child/family. Wish list items are from a variety price ranges.

Drop-off unwrapped gifts, with the Angel Tree ornament,

to the Church by
