Pastoral Services Ministries

The many ministries in our parish's Pastoral Services provide loving support and care during life's most difficult trials. Through support groups, visitation ministry, and pastoral counseling, we are here to help.

Bereavement Ministry:

The Bereavement Ministry offers an opportunity to come together for support and solace when dealing with the loss of a loved one. All in need of comfort and compassion are welcome.

Caregivers and/or Patient Advocates Ministry:

The office of Pastoral Services is looking to build a ministry for those who are caregivers and/or patient advocates.  The need for this ministry has been brought to our attention and mandates action.  This ministry would be open to those who are providing care or advocacy to a person either at home, hospitalized, or residing in a senior residence venue.  The group would meet to discuss and share their experiences. If you are interested, we would like to hear from you.  Please contact Dave Bonesteel at 757-221-0969 or or Deacon Francis Roettinger at 757-229-3631 x2308 or

Elder Care Ministry:

The Elder Care Ministry serves our elderly parishioners through visitation, counseling and resources (including adult incontinence supplies). If you have a special concern for an elderly parishioner, contact Gerry in the Outreach Center at 253-0664.

Intercessory Prayer Group:

Our Intercessory Prayer Group prays for the intentions listed in our weekly bulletin. To submit a name for prayer, please call the Parish Office at 229-3631 after receiving permission from the person to be submitted.

Parish Disability Ministry:

The Parish Disability Ministry ensures that anyone with a disability, and their family, has the opportunity to be included in all aspects of our parish life.

Parish Nurses:

The Parish Nurse is a visible symbol of the healing that embraces the whole person – body, mind, and spirit. As qualified, health care professionals, parish nurses enhance the stewardship of life and health via education and counseling.
