Heart to Pray

Heart to Pray encourages each parishioner to go deeper in their prayer life, through which they can encounter the living Christ and experience his great mercy and love.

Prayer is the foundation to everything in the With All Your Heart model. When disciples make priority time to pray each day, they come to know God’s loving Presence more and more deeply. Prayer also changes our heart to serve, to share, and to witness, because we do so with Christ as our center. Like St. Paul, we can say, because of our committed Heart to Pray, “It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.” (Gal 2:20)  The Heart to Pray Season offers Saint Bede community a time each year to grow in their prayerlife as individuals, families and together as the Church.

“Whether prayer is expressed in words or gestures, it is the whole man who prays. But in naming the source of prayer, Scripture speaks sometimes of the soul or the spirit, but most often of the heart (more than a thousand times). According to Scripture, it is the heart that prays. If our hearts are far from God, the words of prayer are in vain.” Catholic Catechism of the Church 2562
